Introducing The Grinch’s Heart — a Christmas cocktail recipe that’s as fun to make as it is to sip.
With vibrant Midori melon liqueur, pineapple juice, a splash of vodka, and a bubbly finish from our Millions of Peaches sparkling wine, this drink is the perfect mix of sweet, tart, and festive.
Whether you’re hosting a holiday gathering or just trying to feel merry and bright again, one sip of this cocktail and your heart will grow three sizes, guaranteed.
🍸 The Grinch's Heart Christmas Cocktail Recipe
Ingredients:
1.5 oz Midori (melon liqueur)
0.5 oz vodka (or rum if you’re feeling tropical)
1 oz pineapple juice
3 oz Millions of Peaches sparkling wine
Red sprinkles for the rim
1 cherry for garnish (aka, The Grinch’s heart ❤️)
Instructions:
Rim your glass with red sprinkles — dip in water, then sprinkles for that Who-ville sparkle.
In a shaker with ice, combine Midori, vodka, and pineapple juice.
Shake (not stir!) and pour gently into your rimmed glass.
Top with 3 oz of Millions of Peaches bubbly wine for that Christmas morning shimmer.
Garnish with a cherry — because even The Grinch deserves a heart.
Take a sip, and just like that, the holiday spirit returns.
Non-Alcoholic or Low-Alcohol Alternative:
For those looking for a lower alcohol version you can substitute the Midori and Vodka for
2 oz of blue lemonade like Ocean Blue by Calypso
1 oz of papaya juice like Morning Blend by Knutsen
0.5 oz of tequila alternative like Ritual Zero-Proof Agave Spirit
⚠️ NERD ALERT!
Things are about to get delightfully dorky. Side effects may include laughter, learning, and an uncontrollable urge to quote Dr. Seuss.
Let’s talk about color in cocktails. When mixing up a festive holiday cocktail like this color can make all the difference. In the full-alcohol version of this cocktail Midori provides the perfect hue of Grinchy green. However, when looking for an alcohol-free substitute without just pumping in food coloring we have to use a little color theory...
Remember elementary art class? With the 3-primary colors (red, blue, & yellow) we can mix up all the other colors. The pineapple juice in the drink adds a pale yellow tone. To get green we're going to have to mix in something blue (blue + yellow = green). The blue lemonade gives us a start but it easily overpowers the pale yellow of the pineapple. To add some vibrant yellows we can add in the Morning Blend, which is a really vibrant orange and end up with the perfect Grinchy green. The key to finalizing the ratios for the perfect shade is small additions, measuring each addition.
This balance of fruit and sparkle creates a bright, refreshing contrast to heavy holiday fare — perfect for sipping while decorating the tree or watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
