At The Rejoicing Vine, supporting local isn’t just something we say. It’s something we build our community around. From the wine in your glass to the music in the air, every piece of the experience is rooted in people who live, work, and create right here.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce you to Rob Amrhein.
Rob is not only a talented local musician, but also the owner of Meridian Piano Movers, a business that quite literally helps bring music into people’s homes across Indianapolis. His connection to music runs deeper than performance. It’s part of his everyday life and work.
Recently, while moving a piano for a couple in The Preserve at Eagle Creek, Rob found himself talking with them about The Rejoicing Vine. They had visited before and were already planning to return with friends. It’s moments like that, organic and community driven, that remind us why supporting local matters.
A Sound That Feels Like Home
Rob describes his sound as an eclectic acoustic blend of rock, folk, country, and alternative. His performances feature layered harmonies and expressive guitar work, often with a collaborative spirit woven in.
It’s the kind of music that pairs effortlessly with a glass of wine and a slow evening.
His musical journey started with “I’ll Fly Away” on mandolin, followed by learning the bass line to “Another One Bites the Dust.” It’s a combination that hints at both tradition and versatility.
When asked about his favorite song to play, his answer is immediate. “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” by The Beatles. That emotional depth shows up clearly in his playing style.
Influences That Shaped the Sound
Rob credits three major influences:
The Beatles, for their unmatched musical creativity
Crosby, Stills & Nash, for their rich harmonies
And his dad, who he says “taught me everything I know”
If he had to choose just one album for life, it would be Revolver by The Beatles. A choice that says a lot about his appreciation for timeless, layered music.
Life Beyond the Music
When he’s not playing, Rob keeps things grounded. Weekends are spent with his wife Linda and their family, sharing meals, playing games, and enjoying time together.
That same warmth and authenticity carries into his performances.
He prefers acoustic over electric, streams music most of the time but still enjoys vinyl at home, and when it comes to wine, he leans toward sweet reds.
Come Experience It Yourself
Rob will be joining us soon at The Rejoicing Vine, and we can’t wait for you to experience his music in person.
