A Fresh Pour of Creativity: Meet Sydney

Our newest staff member Sydney behind the bar at our Indianapolis tasting room

If you’ve visited the Rejoicing Vine lately, you may have seen Sydney, a new face around the winery, behind the tasting room counter, outside on the patio, taking photos, or typing away on her laptop. Sydney is customer-facing, but behind the scenes, she’s creating content, helping with events, and brainstorming new ways to connect with the community. As our Marketing & Sales Intern, she brings creativity, energy, and a passion for storytelling to the vineyard experience.

About Sydney

Sydney is an undergraduate student at Marian University’s Indianapolis campus in her last year of her Bachelor’s program, studying Psychological Sciences. She has a specialization in Industrial Organizational psychology with a minor in Business. Sydney aims to have her own practice as a Counseling Psychologist and would love to incorporate her passion for hair, makeup, and aesthetics into it. In her free time, Sydney likes doing fun makeup looks, trying out new hairstyles and colors, and loves to experiment with her style when it comes to fashion. Sydney also loves art, so outside of her makeup looks, she enjoys making digital and physical collages. She also loves to collect vinyls, Betty Boop memorabilia, and antique jewelry. Her favorite memory while working with us has been experiencing a Cookie Decorating Night for the first time, and her favorite part about working at the Rejoicing Vine is its focus on sustainability and community.

Community, to me, is the interpersonal reward of the love and care we give to the people around us, and sustainability, as it pertains to our environment, is simply extending that love and care to the world around us. The Rejoicing Vine does both extremely well.

Q&A: Quick Sips with Sydney

If your personality were a wine, what would it be?

Rose, it's pink(ish), bubbly, and always at brunch!

If you could host any themed event at Rejoicing Vine, what would it be?

One part of my makeup routine that I cannot live without is my lip combo, so likely an event that centers around wine-tasting and making your own lip gloss/lipstick shade.

What’s your favorite part about connecting with guests online?

I think it’s important that people understand what The Rejoicing Vine is all about, and having interactive content, fun themes, and a clear display of what goes on here is my way of conveying that.

What song belongs on the perfect vineyard playlist?

Son Shine by Sault

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

I’m currently in my ‘learning to like wine’ era.

What’s a cause or issue that’s important to you, and why?

Mental health advocacy is very important to me. Our mental health is just as important and as intertwined in our everyday lives as our physical health is and it requires our attention as much as possible. It’s easy to get caught up in our daily routines and lose ourselves in other people, work, school, even family, but I feel in order to show up as your best self to who and what is important to you, you must engage in practices that promote a healthy mindset, however that looks for you.
