🍀 Four Leaf Fresca - A Fresh Take on St Patrick's Day Cocktail
Not all St Patrick’s Day cocktails need to be sweet, heavy, or filled with artifical dyes.
The Four Leaf Fresca is bright, botanical, and refreshingly green — a garden-inspired cocktail that feels lucky and lively. Made from fresh juice, mint, lime, and sparkling wine, it’s a lighter, more refined way to celebrate.
If you’re searching for unique St Patrick’s Day drinks in Indianapolis, this one is for the fresh cocktail lovers.
🥒 Making the Fresca Base
Throw the following ingredients into blender and blend until smooth. For full benefits use this smoothie as is, if the texture is too much strain to your desired consistency. One batch of Fresca base will make ~5-6 servings with 1 bottle of wine.
1 lb Cucumber
0.5 lb Apple - for sweetness, not color
½ cup Mint Leaves
½ cup Sugar
1 cup Water
½ cup Lime Juice
2 Kale leaf
2 Dandelion leaf
2 Tbsp Parsley leaf
🍸 Drink Ingredients
2 oz of fresca base
0.5 oz tequila or tequila alternative
0.5 oz of simple syrup (optional for sweetness)
0.5 oz egg whites (optional for froth)
4 oz of Blanco No 5
🥂 Directions
Mix all ingredients except wine in a shaker with ice.
Pour into a coupe glass
Top up with Blanco No.5.
Garnish with leaf of your choice and serve!
🧠 NERD ALERT: Green Coloring
WARNING: Things are about to get delightfully dorky.
Let’s talk about that green, artificial dye-filled, beer.
Most “green” St Patrick’s Day drinks get their color from artificial dyes — typically synthetic food coloring added to light beer. It’s festive, sure. But it’s not exactly inspired.
Four Leaf Fresca gets its vibrant hue the old-fashioned way: chlorophyll.
Chlorophyll is the pigment that gives plants their green color. When we blend fresh cucumber, kale, mint, parsley, and dandelion greens, we’re extracting those natural pigments straight from the source. No shortcuts. No artificial additives. Lots of fiber. Lots of nutrition. Just plant chemistry doing what it’s designed to do.
And here’s the fun part: bubbles amplify aroma. When sparkling wine hits fresh herbal juice, carbonation lifts those volatile aromatic compounds straight to your nose. That’s why this cocktail smells as fresh as it tastes.
Science + nature + celebration.
Delightfully dorky? Always.
🌿 Cultivate Life: Using Hardship for Transformation
St. Patrick’s Day isn’t just about green drinks and loud celebrations. It’s about transformation.
In the late 4th century, a 16-year old British boy named was kidnapped by pirates, taken to Ireland, and sold as a slave. After 6 years of slavery he managed to escape and return back to his home country.
After some time he, feeling called, chose to return to Ireland — not with resentment, but with purpose. He planted seeds of faith in soil that once held his suffering. That's Roman's 8:28 in action.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
Cultivating life, not just of land… but of life. Read more about St. Patrick's journey from slave to missionary here.
Four Leaf Fresca is rooted in that same idea. Real greens. Real ingredients. Growth that comes from something living. No artificial dyes. No shortcuts. Just the natural beauty of what was already created.
This St. Patrick’s Day, gather your loved ones. Raise a glass. Share stories. Offer gratitude.
Because the most meaningful celebrations aren’t manufactured — they’re cultivated.
🎉 Serve It With…
Four Leaf Fresca was made for a table that feels fresh, intentional, and gathered with purpose.
Because this cocktail is light, herbaceous, and naturally vibrant, it pairs beautifully with lighter fare. Think roasted lemon herb chicken, grilled white fish, or even a flaky Irish-style salmon dish. Traditional Irish cuisine may be known for hearty stews and corned beef, but Ireland’s coastal heritage is rich with simple preparations of salmon and cod, often served with fresh herbs and bright citrus.
Like St. Patrick returning to plant seeds of faith in Irish soil, we too are invited to cultivate something meaningful — around our tables, in our homes, and in our communities.
