BoilerUp! Regenerative Ag in the Vineyard
The Rejoicing Vine owner Brent Kumfer talks with upper level horticulture class at Purdue about practicing regenerative agriculture in the vineyard.
An amazing day in West Lafayette yesterday with the Purdue Wine Grape Team! So blessed to have the opportunity to play professor for the day at his alma mater speaking to an upper level horticulture class about practicing regenerative agriculture in the vineyard. Our farming philosophy is similar to our life philosophy - "Encourage life & diversity". When you come to visit our vineyard we hope you will notice and come to appreciate the thoughtful management of the life within it's small ecosystem as we strive to grow grapes with nature as opposed to against it. All that said, I have to admit walking into Lilly Hall gave sparked some nightmare flashbacks to finals week. 😨😨😨😨😨
I also had the opportunity to spend time with expert enologist Jill Blume evaluating some of our wines.🍾🍷😋 Learned some more about balance and lengthening the finish on our wines so you can savor the flavor! Looking forward to implementing some of the process changes in order to continue to improve our wines. Purdue Wine Grape Team - thank you again for all you do! You're an amazing resource for our industry. Boiler Up!
